Expectations

At Morning Creek, we are the COLTS and we proudly embody our COLTS Character Traits across all settings and in everything we do. 

We encourage you to use this common language at home too!

 

All teachers present expectations slides for the first several days of school to establish the expectations and explicitly teach the "expected and unexpected" behaviors across each setting. These are the same expectations across the entire school.

 

When students are showing the COLTS traits, we positively reinforce the behaviors through praise, recognition and rewards.

In TK-2, students can earn COLT CARDS. 10 blue cards or 2 "golden tickets" can be turned into the office to earn a prize or restaurant gift certificates. 

In grades 3-5, students can earn COLT CASH to spend at the Student Store or save up for larger experiential prizes. 

When students turn in 10 cards or cash, they add a dot to our schoolwide horseshoe poster. When it is filled up, the whole school earns a spirit day or special experience (ie: sports day, extra recess, field day, movie, dance party, etc)
