Student Health

Morning Creek has a Health Attendant, Bahare Lahijanian (1-858-748-4334 ext. 2203), to take care of first aid and emergencies. In case of student illness at school, the health attendant will notify parents or the emergency contact listed on the enrollment form. No registered nursing services are provided at the school on a daily basis.

Keeping Everyone Healthy

Please remember that PUSD Guidelines state that your child must be fever- and vomit-free for 24 hours before returning to school.ALL Students with any 1 of the following symptoms:
  • fever or chills
  • persistent nasal discharge or congestion
  • cough
  • shortness of breath
  • fatigue
  • muscle or body aches
  • headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Nausea or Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
 
Please stay home until symptoms have improved. Students with the symptoms listed above must seek a test to rule out Covid-19.

Close Contacts:
If you have been notified of a classroom exposure, please test on Day 3, 4, or 5. We trust that you will test. You do not need to send in proof of tests.

Positive Students:
Students that have received a positive test may return as early as day 6 if a negative test was taken on day 5, symptoms are improving and they are fever free for more than 24hrs. A student that has not recieved a negative test may return on day 11 without further testing. 
 
If a student appears to be too ill or uncomfortable to adequately function in a classroom setting they should stay home until no symptoms for 24 hours or a written medical release is obtained.
 

Medication

According to California State law, prescription and non-prescription medications are permitted to be taken at school only with a written statement from the physician AND a written statement from the parent or guardian. The Health Office has a form available titled “Authorization for Medication Administration”. 
Written information that must be provided is:
  • Student’s name
  • The name of the medication
  • Physician’s instructions detailing the date(s), method, amount and time medication is to be given
  • Parent/guardian and Physician signature
 
This information is required for all medications including “over-the-counter” Tylenol, ibuprofen, cold/allergy medicines, etc. All medications MUST be labeled with the student’s name and above information, in the original Rx or OTC container. NO PLASTIC BAGGIES WILL BE ACCEPTED!
Sunscreen, cough drops, lip balm and Vaseline, etc, must have a note from the parent on file and will also be monitored by the school personnel.

  • Important! K/1st Report of Physical Exam (CHDP)  (1st Grade Requirement, but may submit for KDG as long as physical date is no more than 18 months prior to entering 1st Grade.) First year Transitional Kindergarten (TK) students submit in the kindergarten year.
  • Important! K Oral Health Assessment (K)(By May 31, 2023 in Kindergarten or 1st Grade, whichever is the first year of public school)
  • Important! If your student as any Chronic Conditions, please have your doctor fill out the Certification of Chronic Medical Condition Form
