Any child who attends a Poway Unified School District elementary school is eligible for enrollment. This program is open to TK/Kindergarten through 5th grade students. Children who will attend Kindergarten in the fall are eligible to enroll and attend ESS the summer before they start Kindergarten. Spots for Summer Camp are limited (first come, first serve). ESS is a voluntary use program. All PUSD elementary schools have an Extended Student Services program on their campus. Our organization works diligently to accommodate and serve working families in need of before and after school care. A student's enrollment at an elementary school does not guarantee them ESS enrollment. As a growing organization, each ESS site may experience limitations that factor into the enrollment capacity and may prohibit the acceptance of additional students at any given time.
Step 1: Complete the Interest List. - currently CLOSED for the 23/24 school year due to being at capacity as are fully enrolled with a high interest list.

ESS offers a variety of contracts for families to choose from. ESS is an all or nothing program, meaning we do not allow drop-ins for one time, or a drop-in outside of your contract. ESS will also charge fees based on attending 5 days a week, even if you only use the program as needed.

Fees are due on the first day of each month. A $20.00 late fee will be applied to unpaid balances on the 15th of each month. The ESS program is self supporting and financially independent of the Poway Unified School District.

ESS is open every early release Thursday (at no extra cost if you are enrolled).

ESS is only open during certain school breaks (President's Break and Spring Break).
In addition, ESS is only open to those who register ahead of time and already enrolled into ESS. Breaks are an additional charge to the monthly fees, and include field trip costs along with other activities for the week.

Registration for all breaks and recesses is for the entire recess or break duration. (No single days). Enrollment caps are based on available staff.
Summer Program Fees- All fees for field trip admissions, guest speakers, summer t-shirt, and an afternoon snack are included in the summer program fees.

Students must be signed in and out of ESS daily. Only an authorized person with a picture I.D. can sign a child out of ESS. Your child is expected at ESS each day. Please notify us via email whenever your child WILL NOT attend ESS.
Monthly fees can be prorated only when a two-week notice has been given on a "Fee Adjustment Request" form. Credit is given in five-day increments only and each child is allowed two weeks per school year, excluding Winter Break, President's Week, and Spring Break (these are optional attendance time frames). If you choose to extend the two-week allotment, a withdrawal from the program is required. There are no refunds for absences due to illness or partial attendance.
If your child is not feeling well, please do not send him/her to ESS. Students who have been ill must be well, vomit free and fever free, for 24 hours before returning to ESS or school. If your child becomes ill or suspected to be contagious, you will be notified to pick him/her up promptly. It is very important that you keep us updated on changes in work, home, cell, and emergency phone numbers.
ESS will administer medication (prescription or non-prescription) to students only if a PUSD "Authorization for Medical Administration" form has been completed by a physician and parent. All medication must be in the original container. Sunscreen, chapstick and non-medicated cough drops need only the parent's portion of the form filled in and signed.
